Engineering Embedded Mental Health
Michelle Bond, LPC is the Engineering Embedded Mental Health Provider, offering a variety of mental health and wellness services to students in the College of Engineering.

Individual Support
Engineering Let’s Talk offers drop-in, one-on-one 20-30 minute consultations where students can discuss anything impacting their wellbeing. This is a great option for students wanting to try out talking to a therapist, learn more about services, or address a concern. Let’s Talk consultations are not mental health treatment and can be accessed by students regardless of their current location. Check the current Let’s Talk schedule for availability.
Engineering Single Sessions are self-scheduled one-on-one 60 minute counseling appointments. This is a great option for students wanting longer, dedicated time to address a concern. Single sessions offer brief, solution focused support and typically last 1-3 sessions. Students interested in ongoing counseling support are encouraged to schedule an Access Appointment with UHS. Single Sessions are mental health treatment and can only be accessed by students located in Wisconsin at the time of the appointment. Students can self-schedule a Single Session via the MyUHS portal, detailed instructions for scheduling are here.
Consultation
Students, faculty, and staff in the College of Engineering are welcome to consult with Michelle regarding concerns about a student’s mental health or challenging interpersonal dynamics in a student community. Schedule a consultation with Michelle here.
Wellness Events
Michelle is available for wellness events with student organizations, classes, or other groups in the College of Engineering. Examples of programming include workshops, presentations, group discussions, creative activities, and resource tabling. Common topics include stress, imposter phenomenon, and mindfulness. Michelle can develop or customize an event to your community’s needs. Please email Michelle with your wellness event requests.

Helpful Apps
Healthy Minds Program App is a free, easy-to-use app for mindfulness and other skills that support well-being. It offers a combination of podcast-style lessons and both seated and active meditations.
Connecting Badgers Podcast is a podcast hosted by UHS Mental Health Services staff discussing topics relevant to our campus communities. Example episode topics include ADHD and self-diagnosis, loneliness, and coping with end of semester stress.
Uwill provides flexible, no cost, virtual counseling options for students. Licensed mental health professionals are available for video, phone, chat, and message sessions during flexible hours – including nights and weekends. Appointments are typically available within 24 hours. Uwill is a good option for students located outside of Wisconsin as they have providers in all 50 states and many countries.
MiResource provides a searchable database of community mental health providers for UW-Madison students beyond what is offered at UHS.
Suicide Prevention Training for UW-Madison Students is a free Canvas training that builds capacity to support one another and provides local and national resources that are available if a student needs help. There are training options for undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty and staff.

Additional Resources
Medical Withdrawals may be granted to students who experience a serious or unexpected physical or behavioral health condition; who may need to provide care to an immediate family member who is experiencing a serious or unexpected physical or behavioral health condition; or who have experienced the death of an immediate family member. Approval will be granted on a case-by-case basis. If a medical withdrawal is approved, tuition will be refunded based on a predetermined schedule.
Like other withdrawals, medical withdrawal results in the drop of all enrolled classes.

Basic Needs Support
Basic Needs support offers dedicated resources to assist students in gaining access to food, housing, and insurance to promote overall wellness while attending UW-Madison. We have Basic Needs Assistants ready to support in getting students connected to resources including programs such as Foodshare and Badgercare, as well as getting connected to different food pantry’s or other resources.
McBurney Disability Resource Center
The McBurney Disability Resource Center is the office for students with disabilities and classroom accommodations at UW-Madison. They work collaboratively with students and instructors to provide and support effective student accommodations.
RecWell Wellness Coaching
RecWell offers peer-to-peer support with UW-Madison student wellness coaches in both one-on-one and group formats. Wellness coaches offer motivation, connection, accountability, and campus resources to be there for you through your wellness journey.
Religious and Spiritual Life
The Center for Interfaith Dialogue maintains a list of on-campus religious, spiritual, and interfaith communities and resources.
Lawyers for Learners
Lawyers for Learners provides free legal help for students Free, Confidential Legal Help for Wisconsin Students. The help varies based on the legal matter such as: criminal record, driver’s license recovery, family, finances, housing, immigration, name/gender change, and public benefits.
