About Carly: Carly is a first-gen college grad from Madison’s farm country, holding a BA in Legal Studies, Theater, and History, with a Criminal Justice certificate from UW-Madison. While working full time, she earned her Masters in Education from Edgewood College, specializing in Social Studies Education and Teaching English as an Additional Language.
Carly’s professional journey encompasses a decade of teaching and curriculum development, focusing on civil discourse, sociological teaching methods, and empowering historically underserved students. Transitioning to higher education in fall 2022, she began working with the STAR scholarship program in winter 2023, aiming to foster meaningful connections and uplift the individual strengths of each student she supports.
Outside of work, Carly enjoys audiobooks, outdoor adventures, and playing classic Midwestern card games like euchre and sheepshead, despite her modest skills. With a passion for advocacy and dialogue, she’s committed to fostering vibrant, supportive communities in every aspect of her life.
